According to the data announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of visitors to Turkey in March increased by 11 percent compared to the same month of the previous year to 2 million 831 thousand.
The most visitors to Turkey this month came from Russia with 265 thousand, Iran with 245 thousand, Germany with 216 thousand, Bulgaria with 205 thousand and Georgia with 129 thousand.
January March between the 3 Decemberthe number of visitors to Turkey increased by 23.13 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 7 million 771 thousand. During this period, 1 million 559 thousand of those who came to the country were Turks living abroad, and 6 million 212 thousand were foreign visitors.
The country that sent the most visitors to Turkey in the first quarter was Russia with 772 thousand. Russia was followed by Bulgaria with 523 thousand, Germany with 504 thousand, Iran with 471 thousand and Georgia with 348 thousand.
